The FamilySAFE is an all-welded,
reinforced, thick steel unit, engineered to exceed FEMA’s
performance criteria. This is accomplished by building a “NASCAR
type" safety cage and surrounding the occupants with steel on all
sides. The unit has the strongest door available in the industry
with several safety escape features incorporated in the design.
After a very instensive test, the results were shattered wood pieces, and a fully functioning door with a mere ¼” dent. Three matching Sargant stainless steel class-one deadbolts hold the door closed securely, which swings inward so debris will not easily trap its occupants inside. Rest assured that with the HILTI anchorage system your unit will remain in place. Should you move again, your shelter may be moved with you, or leave it to increase resale value. Because the FamilySAFE is prefabricated in a controlled environment, the on-site work is greatly reduced. With several standard unit sizes and door placements available, we have the safe room that’s just right for your family. The FamilySAFE is the simple economical solution. Compare our features and quality to other safe rooms and no one can match our price. FEATURES & ADVANTAGES ● Interior and Exterior Installation ● Handicap accessible (ADA complaint doors available upon request) ● Available in sizes from 3 person to 12 person ● 8ft ceiling option available ● Unit may be finished as safe or closet by your contractor ● Unit may be climate controlled with air ducts by your contractor ● Only a 3 week lead-time required for new construction ● Outstanding quality and service ● Bullet resistant to Class II, will stop all normal handguns & shotguns ● A 99.9% approval rating, the highest available! We were so confident in our product that we had one of our own in the shelter at the time of testing! Letters from Hilti & Texas Tech ![]() ![]()
The FamilySAFE is perfect in new
construction. What looks like any other closet may actually be the
perfect place to wait out the storm, or a great safe haven from
intruders. It may be ducted with fresh air for the occupants, or a
climate controlled vault for furs, guns, or any valuables. The unit
may be wired for phone, electricity, TV cable, and a security system
panic alarm switch.

![]() Make sure little ones have a few toys, books, and/or blankies for a more comfortable time in case of emergency. Make sure to get them used to this environment by showing them the shelter during Tornado drills. Teach them to be prepared for such events by telling them things they may hear and assure them that they will be safe. Simulate noises and have songs prepared to help calm their mood. Most important...Try not to panic!!! Your children see you as an example of how they should react. If you are nervous, they will most likely be nervous too. ![]() You may customize your shelter or simply add folding chairs, as we've done, for convenience. The unit may be wired with electricity, cable, and telephone by you or your contractor. ADA-compliant doors, 36" wide, are also available upon request. Be prepared with emergency supplies such as Water & Food, flashlight, batteries, a first aid kit, any essential medications, cell phone, blanket, and a weather band radio that is battery operated. That's how much we trust our product! (And of course, the signs are not included)
How much is your family's safety worth
to you? Read this story about Beth Bartlett of Del City, OK. She was
told over and over that her safe room was "overkill"...that is until
an F-5 tornado plowed through her neighborhood May 3, 1999. Her
entire neighborhood was in ruins including her home. But, thanks to
the investment she made in a safe room, her family was probably
saved. This impressed even the president of the United States of
America, Bill Clinton.
